Pls recommend dining chairs :)

I am 90% set on the element dining table by dovetail furniture (you can get several images from googling. Of someone wants to tell me how to make this hot- that would be great but here it is lukewarm,

you have to click on the picture because until you enlarge it the picture makes the table look stubby and strange. It is a reclaimed hardwood deal with lots of natural grain and texture but with very clean and contemporary lines. What chairs would you pair it with. I am out for a contemporary look that incorporates elements of glamour and vintage. I always love the HGTV makeovers when they say it is a contemporary vintage look so I'm giving it a go :). I also like Hollywood regency style but that is another bag of chips. I want, glam, chic, and soothing without being frilly . We need six chairs, I'm open to mix and match. We have two little boys who eat like pigs being slopped. Perhaps they need easiLy cleaned chairs and we can have the gorgeous ones lol. The salesman suggested off white slip covered chairs so I could wash them. I want to see other ideas for the table though.. Petty pleaseeeeeeee.Ty

Re: Pls recommend dining chairs :)

  • when i think of hollywood regency i think of this shape of a dining chair, for some reason:

the one pictured is from homedecorators.com and is in moleskin, which is kid friendly. i'm not sure how you feel about the fact that the legs are a different finish from that table. it can be pulled together, you would just need to balance it somewhere else in the room, i think, either in tone or actual finish.

here is another one from homedecorators.com that has the elegance of regency and would glamourize the table. i think the fabric choice made could help address concerns of spills from the kids, as well as coordinating it with the rustic table.

  • We have a reclaimed 9 foot table in our dinning room.  We decided to get two fabric chairs from World Market: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11620443  They are this style but with a mustard yellow background and off white flowers.  (sorry, they don't have a picture on their website, just in store) Then we also have 6 of these chairs from Overstock: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Steel-Silvertone-Side-Chair-Set-of-2/5095626/product.html?rcmndsrc=2

Sorry they aren't clicky, I have no idea how to do it on a mac.

  • Would you consider doing a bench?  I think it may go nicely.  Either a wood bench or a fabric bench could work.
