Hello All,
My next-door neighbor from growing up in Richmond has been battling pancreatic cancer for nearly 5 years now. Her acceptance and strength throughout everything has truly amazed me, and I wanted to pass along her story and help forward her cause. Her and her daughter have written a few articles for the Richmond Times Dispatch on what it?s like living (and living with a parent) with a deadly disease, and she was interviewed again yesterday for the Goochland paper. There is a big bill pending in Congress focused on increasing awareness for the disease, and she?s been working really hard to help get it through.
If it interests you at all, there are ways through pancan.org that you can send a letter to our representatives to urge them to support this bill. It doesn?t take more than 5 minutes, and I know she would really appreciate your support. Also if you could just keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers - she's an amazing woman and I'm so blessed to know her.
In case you're interested, here are the three articles (hyperlinks aren't workin for me right now...)
