Frames on stairs wall...have to be the same?

I want to put a bunch of pictures on the wall going up our stairs. I want to go with silver frames of various sizes.  My husband wants all the frames to be the same (meaning from the same company so they all look exactly the same, just different sizes).  I was going to put different frames (thick frames, thin frames, etc) but they would all be silver.

 Which would look best?

Personally I prefer the look of different frames in the same color. Plus, that way when you want to add or change a picture out in 10 years you can since you can just get another silver frame (assuming it would be hard to get the EXACT same frame at that point).

I'm with the other girls, switch it up - all the same is just boring.  Check pinterest for ideas, there are a ton out there.
