Alright ladies, you can ask me anything! Ready, Go!
Re: Interrogate me
It's Smith's Cove in Cayman. We did have a DW, but the wedding was on the Carnival Magic in Galveston so our family that couldn't travel could still go, then did the trash the dress in Cayman.
What is your biggest fear? Why?
Favorite memory from grade school? Middle school? High school?
What are your talents and how do you use them?
Where do you and DH meet?
Where/ how (short version) did he propose?
How long did you date?
How long were you engaged?
Was planning the wedding mostly fun or mostly stressful for you?
Are you glad its over and can enjoy married life or do you miss the planning?
Does it annoy you or excite you when people ask about babies in your future?
Favorite Olympic Sport?
Favorite Book?
A movie everyone must see?
I'd say my biggest fear right now is that my life will pass me by while I wait for the next thing to fall into place. I will always be looking for that next thing to happen rather than just enjoying what I have at the moment and the experiences that come with that. I think the reason why is that we are in a waiting period right now. My H needs to get the rest of his flight time in order to get a job and we are living with his parents while we are trying to save up for a house.
Hmm favorite memory from school... I remember back in first grade I had a huge crush on Heston (I think is his name?) and he used my lip gloss.
Middle school, I can't really think of anything. I was home schooled and my mom and I were having a hard time getting along because everything I really started enjoying she would take me out of because the girls 'weren't Christian enough'.
High school, hanging out and getting to know some of the people in the 'art club' while we painted a mural on the wall of the tennis courts.
I'd say my talents are my ability to mix the artistic with the math and science. I love art and science. I'm trying to use them in my career every day. I'm a mechanical engineer and I work at a research company in explosives and ballistics. I try to come up with different ways to test things etc. Like a couple of months ago we were testing head trauma with a new type of helmet. The way we made the 'skin' was a huge mold that was very frustrating and difficult to get the correct thicknesses. So I suggested we pour the skin flat then put darts in a couple of places, like I would if I were sewing a sleeve.
We first met at a 21st birthday party with the theme of 'pimps and hoes'. It was ridiculous. We didn't really talk again, until we had an Astronomy class together a year and a half later.
It was two days after Valentine's day, and I had just gotten out of my night class. He called me as soon as I got out of class and asked if I wanted to go out for dinner. He also told me that my package of fabric came in the mail and asked if he could open it. I told him no and he said it got damaged in the mail. When I got home he told me to open the package and I handed it to him for him to open and he pulled out the ring, got down on one knee and proposed.
We dated for 3 years. Engaged for 16 months.
At first planning was really stressful because I couldn't figure out how to make things work within our budget and still have everyone there that we wanted. Once we decided on the cruise it was smooth sailing. (Pun intended
)
I'm glad its over. I felt like it was constantly looming out in front of me and I was forgetting something that I needed to do.
It's slightly annoying right now, but I think we get asked it a lot more than normal because one SIL just had her baby this past weekend and my other two SILs are pregnant. Two of the wives of guys I work with are also pregnant so it's a little overwhelming.
My favorite thing about the Olympics is ice skating, but I guess out of the summer sports probably sprints.
I'm going to switch your must see to read and do a favorite movie. Sheet Music by Kevin Leman. It's a great sex book that gives you a better understanding of where the other person is coming from and what to do to make things better.
Favorite Movie: Juno
I agree ice skaking is amazing to watch.
Thanks for the book recommendation (I was looking for a new book too read)
Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with that. Very creative!
Yes it was. Maybe we should have a list of volunteers who wish to be interrogated and do one every week! (Christian Weddings on TK does this too)
Agreed! On the not engaged yet board they just did it randomly and it fizzled out really fast, but I think it's a great way to get to know each other.
Yay LJ! Engineers unite!
Electrical is so frustrating to me. It's a lot like computer coding/simulating to me. You keep tweaking till it works and you really don't know why what you did worked and don't know what to do to fix something when its wrong.
Love this idea!!
We can make our own "sticky" by bumping it up to the top when we think of it
Thanks Jess!
No worries! I didn't want to be in charge of it anyways. I'm glad you are taking over it.
wow- um most of the questions I would have asked, have been so
What is your favorite color?
Do you have a furbaby?
My Blog
Haha, story of my life my last two years of my 5-year degree. I passed, so I guess I understood some of it! I knew in like January 2011 I wanted to be on the manufacturing side of things, and I found the perfect job!
Blue
Yep. Her name is Gabby and she is a 100 lbs of cuddly puppy. She is 6 years old, but don't tell her that.
We usually keep her shaved short like in the first picture, but it can get really long and thick with an undercoat, which is really hard for her in the San Antonio heat.
If you could only live in one city for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Does your H have any annoying habits?
Favorite restaurant?
Do you volunteer anywhere?
Do you have a favorite hobby?
What place do you want to take a vacation to the most?
Most embarrassing story that you're willing to share with us?
Im sure I can think of lots more! :-)
Best - Seeing the relationships between our different families and friends blossom. Like, my uncle became really good friends with H's uncle, my cousin became really good friends with my old roommate and my photographer became great friends with our Oklahoma family.
Worst - our wedding coordinator acted like I was making her life very difficult and she rolled her eyes at me multiple times. The second coordinator said I was the best bride she had ever worked with, so I thought the other one in charge needed to get over it or quit.
Also, one of our friends had a huge spider bite on his leg and ended up in the hospital so he wasn't able to go on the cruise. He wasn't given any of his money back and we didn't get the credit for him either. For every 8 rooms booked we got a 'free person' worth of money. We had exactly 24 rooms, so with him and his girlfriend not going, we only got 2 free instead of 3. I think it's pretty sh*ty. Either he should get some of his money back or we should get the free person and give it to him.
I would love to live in either Germany or Switzerland. I'm not sure of the actual city, but they are both beautiful, safe and rich!
My H's most annoying habit is messing with the inside seam of my jeans while he is talking to someone. It's like a nervous habit for him when he is talking to someone new.
Favorite restaurant: Cool Cafe - It's a mediterranean place that has awesome savory crepes. I always get the jaguar which is a spicy filling with tomatoes, beans, avocado, cilantro and some type of chilies.
At my work, every year we spend a day at the food bank. Other than that no.
Favorite hobby - really anything artsy where I'm working with my hands. Such as jewelry, clay, drawing, painting and sewing.
I really want to go to Ireland. My grandma was born and raised there. One of my H's best friends lives there too. H went about 4 years ago when we first started dating and I am jealous!
Lets see...embarrassing. I try to block those from my memory! The first Christmas H drove up with me to see my mom's side of the family was pretty embarrassing. We were at my grandmas and while she was standing up from her chair she farted with H sitting next to her. We got over to my aunt's house for the party and there was a lull in the conversation for a second and my mom filled it with a fart. My little sister was sitting on his lap and she farted. Then while we were leaving her house, H and I were alone walking down the steps and I farted. He was so appalled and disgusted by me and the females in my family. He didn't know whether to run far away or laugh.
