Morning All. Anyone watching the news covering the shooting at the movie theatre in Colorado. SCARY!!!
Re: Friday Randoms
I just saw it this moring on the news. I agree with you. I am glad that no one has done that here in West Michigan.
It was so nice to have the windows open last night. And it will be nice tonight too. Wohoo. Not looking forward to the temps this weekend though.
Happy Friday!
Good morning!
So sad about the shootings, and scary!!
I agree about last night! I woke up in the middle of the night and it felt SO good to have a nice cool breeze from the bedroom window!
I'm in a great mood today.
So sad about what's going on in the news in CO.
Glad it's Friday, but don't have any real plans. I want to do something fun, but not sure what. Does anyone have fun weekend plans going on?
I have nothing planned and I get real bored sitting at home with nothing to do.
How about 5 or 10 things to vent about on friday? hahah
1. I dont want to work tonight, we are crazy busy at work and people are snobby ( I work as a front desk supervisor in a hotel) SO sick of dealing with peoples BS!!!
2. I'm sick over the event that just took place in colorado. What is this world coming too??!?! It makes me double think of having kids and what the type of world they would be raised into. Its so sad and I'm def praying for their families and friends!!!
3. My FI and I only see each other on weekends.. this is starting to get old to me
I wish we had more time for each other, but with me working nights and he working till late it doesnt work well. Weddings in Novemeber
4. I'm starting to give up on the house search. Theres nothing cheap in the area where we want to live. I rather just move somewhere else, but his firefighter job is here and I would never want him to leave that.
5. My cupboards are empty and I'm too lazy to go buy food.
6. headache
7. I just got over a kidney infection, I'm so thankful im no longer in pain.. good news is I lost 10 pounds
8. I want to find a new job, but it is hard to find something that pays more than what I get paid. I found a 2nd job now at dunham sports to keep money in the bank for our honeymoon and wedding
9. Engagement photos are coming up. I'm slighty nervous and excited. I don't know what to wear tho!!!!
10. Today was just a day to vent..Sorry just needed it! Still random!
I don't think we ever welcomed you to the boards...so.. WELCOME!
This is great place to rant, rave and vent.
1.) I understand. It isn't easy and the heat makes everyone on edge
2.) The world is messed up right now.
3.) That is ruff. A few to the girls on here have done it before. YAY Weeding in November.
4.)What area are you looking for?
5.) It's hot, order in is easier.
6.) Advil?
7.) Yay to health and weight loss!
8.) What type of job are you interested in.
9.)WOOOO. We love pictures!!!!
10.) Like I said we are all about random things. That is why it is called "randoms".
Let's see....I've got a rant.
Everyday I see people who make good money using their bachelor's degree. I always thought when I got to this point in my life (graduated) that I would be moving up.....I just feel stuck. I LOVE teaching, but with how the economy is now, I wish I would have chosen something else. I just want a full-time dependable job so I can get to the stuff I've always been waiting for....getting married, buying a house, kids, etc.
Wow. I don't even see that. I know a lot of people that went to college and now don't know what to do. The field their degree is in, is either not hiring or wants experience. I think it is horrible that teachers are getting laid off and or having problems find positions. The ones with jobs seem so overwhelmed that they are having problems try to give help to the kids that need it. My SS is behind in school in nearly every subject and even the help he gets through his IEP doesn't seem to be enough or the right type. We have looked into tutoring and discovered how expensive it is. Summer school is $100 and they only teach 1 subject. The last time he did summer school they did 3 subjects and he did better the following year in school. I guess my rant is that I hear your frustration and thought I would share mine. SS will be 17 tomorrow and a sophomore this fall. If he is able to stay on track for graduation he will be almost 21.
Maybe I should restate my rant a little about making good money with their bachelor's degree. I see this in people who graduated ~10 years ago or so. I totally agree that not a lot is happening with the current graduates. I feel your frustration with the schools!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm jealous of those people!!
I know what you mean. I have 2 degrees in marketing. I spent $50,000 on school. I don't work in my field. If there are jobs available in that field, they are looking at the top market for employees - not people who are just dipping their feet into the field because they haven't been able to get a job where their degree is, etc. I have been out of school for 6 1/2 years, I work for the same ahole in insurance for 10 years, I am not making what I should be making, I am broke, and don't have a pot to pee in. And I live in an apt with a hubby that I cannot stand. Sorry I am not in a good mood today.
Yay, I hear that. I never finished College. Mainly because I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Now I'm starting my own business with my DH and I could use some schooling but don't have the time or money to go back.
It's ok. I kinda made myself be in this predicament. But it stinks that people who were in the same class as me or even my younger brother have nice big homes and lucrative jobs and it makes you jealous and wonder what you did wrong.
Thanks so much for the welcome. I've been pretty much a lurker since joining the knot, then lurking on the nest because we are looking for a house. I'm originally from grand rapids, but recently moved to spring lake this last year. I'm glad to find a thread that I enjoy!!!
Sorry again for the vent, it was one of those type of fridays.
