Help with 1st Anniversary Gifts.

Hi All,

I am in serious need of help with an anniversary present. I was planning a trip but he wants to do that annnnnd a present. Apparently he has bought me something already.

So budget of 200-300. He likes reading and gadgets. Already have bought him a kindle and itouch in the past that he loves. Any help would be fantastic! Thanks.

  • Honestly, things get outdated and set aside so frequently. Why not buy him something that is an experience that you both can build memories from? Like on your trip, do a special excursion - something wild, like a helicopter ride, etc.

The traditional first anniversary gift is paper...so tickets, photo session (maybe a boudouir photo?), concert tickets, personal stationary, etc.

For our 1st I gave tickets to the hubs to see the group that we went to on one of our first dates.  He got me some really nice calling cards, as well as personalized stationary...

  • First off, happy anniversary! What a lucky woman you are- travel AND gifts! We also have our 1st anniversary coming up next week. I'm giving him a hand written letter, and tickets to a game for our favorite NFL team. =) Try throwing something a little more sentimental in there. Good luck!

  • Have you thought of a hot air balloon ride? I don't know where you live, but in Temecula CA they have ride packages that include an hour ride, champagne, snack/picnic in the air, 2 night stay at a winery and a wine tasting/tour...all for about $400. So that could be something fun and adventurous to do! And there are places all over that offer different packages or even just 1 day rides...so start googleling :) I think that's what we might do for ours...
  • Thanks so much for the ideas ladies. His wedding present was boudour shots I totally shoulda saved that for anniversary.

  • See, for my H and I, we really didn't have the money for elaborate gifts.  I took my time to create a year long "project" called the 365 Days of You and Me.  It took a long time to put together, I won't lie, but depending on when your anniversary is you might have time to do something like that... almost a bucket list for the two of you to do together within a year's time. I think gifts like that are much more valuable, but if you still insist on getting something, make it an event for the both of you, like someone suggested tickets or something.
