If you installed your own kitchen cabinets . . .

Where do we start?  We don't want to change the layout and we want to keep it simple and inexpensive as we want to sell soon.

I have cream appliances, so something in a wood tone (not white) would be best.  Where did you order from?  Custom or stock?

Any advice is appriciated.  We are pretty handy once we get organized : )

  • Taking careful measurements of everything, laying out a plan, and going to the store where you plan to buy the cabinets.  You may have to repeat these steps. Custom or stock each has pros and cons and only you can decide what is best for your own situtation.
  • Check craigslist and call around.  You may be ale to find a custom cabinet builder that may have very competitive or superior rates.  You may be able to get a high end customized look for a lower cost than the big stores.  Get references though.
