Bachelorette

I actually stayed up to watch the entire thing. The only part I skipped was Arie's ATFR interview (which upon reading the EW recap sounded like the only interesting part of ATFR)!

I wasn't surprised (or disapointed) by her choice, but I was surprised that she did it at the start of their last date. I liked that though. It would be so hard to go through that knowing the whole time that your heart wasn't in it (although he seemed pretty oblivious, so she probably could have pulled it off). And I liked that she didn't mess with Jef during the proposal, trying to fake him into thinking she wasn't picking him (that always seemed cruel to me).

She lucked out -- I still think he's awesome!

Re: Bachelorette

  • I fell asleep after 10 minutes or so of ATFR (is it worth going back & watching tonight?)

I agree that I think she did the right thing by not dragging it out by going on the last date with Arie if she already knew, but, from a strictly selfish viewer point of view, it was pretty anti-climactic!  She was saying it to Chris Harrision, but it took me a minute to even catch on that that's actually what she meant!

Question: do you think the producers do a google search each year for "cheesy 80's song for love montage"??

  • You can pretty much read the EW recap if you want to know the just of ATFR. She sums it up pretty well.

They do have bad taste in music. Remember when they kept playing "On the Wings of Love" for Jake's season?

  • I was unsure about both guys, but I have to say that I was definitely team Jef during last night's episode.  He really won me over last night for some reason.

OMG, what was up with them playing Glory of Love?  Although, I guess it was better than Wings of Love.

Two totally random things that I noticed:

When Emily broke up with Arie, she was talking about him meeting her parents and she referred to it as 'yesterday'...wondering if they edited the episode to show a different sequence of events?  At least it seemed to me that at least a day or two passed with her going on a date with Jef, him meeting Ricki, etc. before her final date with Arie. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it, ha!

When Jef proposed, they zoomed in on him (or someone else) opening a Neil Lane ring box, but really the whole time he was really only holding just the ring.

  • I noticed that he refered to the day he met her family as "yesterday" too. I wouldn't be surprised to learn they show us some things out of sequence, but it would seem odd if his visit with her family happened after her final date w/ Jef since it seemed like that date was what made up her mind. Unless, in "reality" (and I use that term loosely here), she made her decision after the family visits and let Arie go before her final date with Jef, but it was edited to appear that it was the day after.
  • I just read the recap, so I think I'm good on the ATFR :)  doesn't seem like I missed anything too crazy.  So who do we think will be the next Bachelor?  Sean?  Arie?

Looking forward to Bachelor Pad tonight!

  • I skipped through most of ATFR, but didn't see anything too exciting. (had to keep my priorities straight and watch the RHoNJ!)

I think Sean will be the next Bachelor!

I'm hoping for Sean, and he seems like the obvious fan-favorite, although sometimes they really pull some people out of left field for these choices.

I DVR'd RHoNJ...I love me some Bravo, but I really wish they'd be a bit more up to date with other networks and have shows available to view online the next day.  I would love to enjoy that during my lunch break today!

  • I like new Bachelors. I expect the recycling of Bachelorettes, but I prefer a fresh Bachelor for some reason.
  • Reality Steve is saying that Roberto is the next Bachelor.

I personally was glad that they let Emily tell Arie before the final ceremony.  I always feel uncomfortable watching them let the rejected person go through a proposal or rejection.  It seems pretty cruel IMO.

Did anyone else notice that the back drop off for the final ceremony wasn't very nice.  It was like in the middle of a town or something.  Couldnt they find a beach some where to have the ceremony?

I too noticed that that Emily talked about meeting her family the day before.  Wonder how that really went in order.  Do they do everything all at once?  I have to say I liked this last show much better than in the past.

I too am ready for a new person to be the bachlore but I did really  like Shawn.

  • I'm a little late to the game here, but I LOVE Jef and Emily together. Though, I'm scared they're going to break my heart like Jillian and Ed and Ali and Roberto before them. I feel like they have one of the most "normal" relationships from that show.

Have you watched the Bachelor Pad yet?  I only saw about half of the episode, but Ed is a hot, drunk mess.  I'm still sad she picked Ed and not Reid!

And Reid was still so, so sweet, even on Bachelor Pad!
