Closet Doors

We are adding a smaller closet (not a walk-in) in our 4th bedroom and I was wondering what kind of closet doors would look the best.  I don't want sliding doors, so I guess that leaves the bi-fold.  I'm pretty sure I'll go with white, but I know I've seen mirrored doors before, but I thought that might look way outdated.  Thoughts?  Pics?

Re: Closet Doors

  • Bi-folds are the most common nowadays, especially in new construction.  Skip the mirror, def outdated.

  • The only thing that stinks about bifolds is when they fall off the track.  Sorry I don't have any other options either.

  • What about two separate hinged doors?  Do you have room for them to swing into the room?  I haven't been happy with my bifolds at all.

This. I hate bifolds they either fall off the track or they stick.

  • The room is small and one side of the closet would be against a wall, so not much room to swing open (for a regular door).  We have sliding doors upstairs which fall off the track, and I hate having to move them all the time, at least with the bi-folds, I can open them both and look at everything at once.  The sliding doors always seem to hit stuff that's sitting on the floor too, like shoes, etc.

Maybe I'm not picturing it right but I would do a single door that opens to the wall unless you were planning to have a piece of furniture right up against that? Is there room for a pocket door on the other side (not the corner side but the other)?  Seems that would be the only other option.

  • I'm a huge fan of white doors.  What about something along these lines:
