Just got married and of course we received a nice slow cooker as a gift! Any easy recipes for using this? I've never used one before so I'd like to try it with something not too complicated. Thanks!
Re: Slow cooker first timer
I have tried many crockpot recipes out. Some weren't so great and others we have loved. I prefer to use mine on Saturday or Sunday when I am in and out of the house. Most work days, we're gone for about 10-12 hours so I don't want to keep an appliance on that long. I also look for recipes where the crockpot does the cooking. I don't want to have to precook something!
I only blog recipes we enjoy, so here is my crockpot tag. Hope you find something you like! The BBQ Beer Shredded Chicken is the one we repeat most often. I use the leftovers on nachos and pizza.

These girls have some amazing slow cooker recipes.. I have tried a couple of them. Their tailgating recipes are preety darn good...
The crock-pot is a great way to start cooking! Here's a few easy recipes I use often:
Slow Cooker Chicken with Corn (great for tacos or on a salad)
Pork Barbacoa Tacos
Slow Cooker Asian Pork Loin (great over rice)
Hungarian Goulash (great over egg noodles or rice)
Jambalaya (one pot meal!)
Roast Beef with Onion Gravy (5 ingredients)
Crock-pot Stuffed Peppers
Quick and Easy Pork Dinner (pork, potatoes, and veggies)
Yikes! Lots of c.o.c. in those recipes.
It's gonna become your new best friend on busy days. I have three go to slow cooker recipes when I am super busy and have no time to cook. I have the recipes memorized so I dont remember where I got them. But you can google them and find the recipes, they are pretty popular. 1. Buffalo chicken for sandwhiches/tacos/pizza: Just about 1.5lbs frozen chicken breasts and a bottle of franks buffalo sauce. Low 6-8 hours. 2. Chicken and Dumplings: Again about 1.5lbs frozen chicken, 2 cans cream of chicken soup. Low 6-8hrs. Last hour add Pilsbury biscuits pieces ontop. I like to serve with canned white corn ontop. 3. Salsa Chicken for burritoes/tacos: About 1.5lbs frozen chicken, 1 jar Pace salsa, 1 can fiesta cheese soup. Low 6-8 hrs. Enjoy
