Would you buy these?

Hi ladies!  I'm a serious lurker here, but, wondering if you can give me some feedback?

If there were a healthy, pre-made muffin option available to you would you buy it?

That is, low fat, all-natural delicious muffins to have/supplement for breakfast, or for after-school-snacks for the kids, or in their lunch, or on the weekends?

Yes, I know we can all buy a box mix- but that even takes prep work (do you have all the ingredients you need?) and dishes, and cook time...and then, do all the muffins get eaten before they start to go stale?

Do you like the idea of a frozen muffin batter that you put in the oven and bake (wa-laa! fresh baked muffins) or do you like pre-baked muffins that you thaw?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Re: Would you buy these?

  • I would certainly be more interested in a frozen batter as I think it would be closer to a wholesome homemade muffin than the boxed variety that is full of preservatives. I am trying to eliminate processed foods from my house and do all my own cooking and baking so I know what my family is eating. Frozen batter is more likely to be included in my shopping list for those times when I don't have time to bake myself.

  • That's an interesting idea, frozen batter. I think I would also go more for that than premade muffins. Although, to be honest, I'm not sure I would be either in truth, I'd probably just go ahead and make some from scratch if I was going to do that.
  • if i was going to bake muffins i'd just bake them, not buy a frozen log. many places near me do have low-fat, all natural delicious muffins. i rarely buy them. just because they're low fat doesn't mean they're healthy-they're high in calories and carbs.

  • Super great feedback ladies, thanks very much!

I should say that these muffins are indeed super healthy- not solely low-fat.  They will include veggies, yes, veggies, but hidden so that kids don't know (necessarily) that they are eating veggies.  You know, the whole put pureed cauliflower into mashed potatoes trick)

    So,

All- Natural, whole grains, vitamin rich, and delicious.

  • Would the batter be frozen in individual servings?  I used to make a bran muffin recipe you could keep in the refrigerator for 6 weeks, but I got tired of washing the measuring cup every day.  Lame, I know, but I hate doing dishes.  If they were frozen in individual servings, that would be interesting.  All you'd have to wash is the muffin pan.  That's cool.  The "healty" thing is nice, but but the fresh muffin angle is more appealing to me.
