Re: 07/26/2012 QOTD
Not fun one: Me getting back to work (I'm a teacher) and DH having a MAJOR project at work.
Fun one: TTC at the end of the year
Home renovations. No idea when that's happening though.
H was informed the other day that his boss is thinking about making Drill Sgt. school mandatory again. It's a 9 week course. So if he is required to go....that'll be our next big hurdle.
Taking another week vacation, except with my family! We'll get to sleep in the same room this year! WOOHOO!
In September we are attending THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY in Springfield, IL. It will be the first wedding for H's family after our's and it is the total opposite of our wedding. I CANNOT wait, it's going to be so OTT.
Other than that, H needs to start looking for work, and I still don't know if he knows what field he is looking into. He quit his job in April and was "taking a sabbatical" to figure out what he wants to do next.
What kind of job did your H quit?
For me: back to classes in Sept and looking for a new job in the mean time.
For both of us: Trip to Australia in January for BIL's wedding! Can't wait!
June 2012 August Siggy Challenge: Favourite Pro Pic (I couldn't choose just one!)
For me: job searching and finding a new job - I can't do what I'm doing anymore.
For us: House hunting - we have to wait a little bit but I'm so excited to get the process moving! We're really growing out of our townhouse and we don't have any room to use or store any of our wedding gifts until we get a new house. It's killing me that we have all of this fun new stuff and it's sitting in boxes!
In three weeks, school starts back up and the two of us will both be back to work. That's really it! Just life getting back to normal. DH finishes his masters program the first week in August, and I'll finish mine in April.
So we're just living life! It's really, amazingly nice.
Now that our house is *almost* sold... we finally get to move on to new projects!
Me: Working on the nursery
It turned into the overflow room when we were moving so I have some serious work to do!
H: He just changed broker dealers so he is swamped with work right now... not sure what his projects consist of after that. Probably finishing up little projects at the new house.
First Look
He's a web/interactive designer, although he has a B.A. in English and an MFA in Screenwriting. I really don't know what would make him happy, I think web design has changed too much since he started 15 years ago and I honestly think his age is a huge reason he hasn't been hired by a firm-he's 10 years older than a lot of people RUNNING companies now. He has no desire to go back to school, so who knows what areas he could go into. He's extremely introverted and would not be able to do anything that involves working with the public. I don't even know what to suggest to him.
With any luck we will be moving.
My Blog
H: Finishing year one of his master's degree this week..just in time to start marching band (as an assistant director) and coaching 7th grade football.
M: Many projects at work to wrap up now that the fiscal year has ended and lots of studying for the CPA exam.
Us: A weekend trip to New York to see a friend (and possibly go see Niagara Falls). Lots of work to do around the house we purchased right before the wedding, including unpacking the numerous boxes we moved from my parents house.
We just finished all the work around the house - installing interlocking pavers & garden in the front and a deck in the back.
I'm hoping to find a new/better job, under appreciated where I am now, lol.
Next year I'm hoping that we will be able to back to Southern California to do all of the things that we didn'tget to do last time.

Me: I want to get a new job. I definately do not like what I am doing now.
We might look for a house, but we don't know if we want to stay here in Texas or move to Montana to be closer to his brother.
We are planning a few trips. One to North Carolina to visit his family. If we do not move, then we will also be making a trip to Montana next October.
Daria, there are a number of career guide-type books out there specifically designed for English majors and other liberal arts grads. While they are mostly aimed at new grads, I wonder if browsing through a book like this might help your H brainstorm some new options. For example: Careers for Bookworms and Other Literary Types; Smart Moves for Liberal Arts Grads; I'm an English Major - Now What?; Great Jobs for English Majors.
If one of you is affiliated with a college or university that's nearby, their career center might have some or all of these books for you to look at.
is he deployed?
What!? How did I miss this?
Our one month!
But really getting a dog, relaxing, and saving for a house.
Here for you if you need anything!
Our biggest thing will be H's stuff with the military
