anyone have these? I need hardware for my kitchen & like the look of those with more simple knobs on cabinets (though we have a full bath on the same floor & I think those type of pulls would be weird in a bathroom so I'd prob get knobs or something else in there? maybe not.) .... my 2 concerns/questions:
1. Are they easy to use? I have several drawers that are very wide & kind of heavy, I have never had to pull on a handle like that to open (putting fingers underneath vs on top) & was wondering if it is comfortable.
2. I have pretty dark cabinets, not espresso but closer to it...would oil rubbed bronze be ok with those? (all our fixtures & door handles are ORB). It seems everywhere I look online, the photos show this type of handle in white kitchens & a lot of sleek contemporary pulls/handles in dark cabinet kitchens- we are not contemporary in style, more transitional.
Thanks!
Re: half moon/cup/clamshell style pulls for drawers in kitchen?
1. We had these on a dresser. They are easy to use. They are sturdy. It is comfortable.
One thing to think about, though, is that in the kitchen it is likely that food could get up underneath the cups (dirty, wet, sticky, hands reaching up to open a drawer). This could happen to any drawer pull, but these would be more awkward to clean up.
2. You could do these on darker wood cabinets. I don't see why not. The ORB cup pulls I have seen are pretty dark anyway, so they will probably stand out despite being on darker cabinets.
I love my bin pulls.
I'm not sure I would do ORB on dark cabinets though, satin nickel is always a good option. There's no need to match kitchen hardware to door hardware and such. The bin pulls will keep them from looking too contemporary.
