Dining Room Furniture

I am looking for a real wood dining room set.  I'm curious - how much did you spend on your dining room set?

Re: Dining Room Furniture

  • For real wood, check out any number of the Amish furniture sites online. They have styles ranging from traditional to contemporary, plus, they can make any sized table you want, and their prices are really reasonable for excellent craftsmanship.
  • I believe I spent $1300 at Costco.com.
  • I just bought a Dovetail Furniture set. Check them out online, very high quality made of reclaimed wood and very cool looking if you like the restoration hardware type look. Barn doors turned into tables etc. We were able to get it for way way less than it is online for. I can't put te exact price uphe but I will say that we got the table for less than 1300 for a table listed at 2000$ and less than 2000 for a hutch that was on special but that I have seen listed 3500-5000. Chairs we got less than 300 though they were listed at 398. So if there is something you want know that you can look around and potentially get it for less. I can't wait for the delivery!

    I second this.

My dining room furniture is a hand-me-down set from my parents (solid knotty pine china cabinet, hutch, table, and Windsor-back chairs) that I refinished.

Before we were offered that set, though, DH and I were looking at Amish-made furniture. I go to a lot of craft shows and Amish markets with my mom, and we've been able to see their work in person, and they really do make beautiful, sturdy furniture that will last a long time.
