Getting slip covers made?
Where do I go to have slip covers made for our dining chairs? I just want them to cover the seat area and maybe a separate cover for the back. Where would I find someone to hire to make them with fabric of my choice?

Re: Getting slip covers made?
If you only want the seat done, you can generally do it yourself. Just lift it off and staple new fabric on.
Otherwise to get a full slipcover, contact an upholsterer. (Phone book or Craigslist.) It will be quite expensive. You might want to consider the one-size-fits-most chair slipcovers commercially available.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I agree. If you want just the seat area try to do it yourself. I, too, wanted slipcovers for my dining room chairs and contacted an upholsterer. They quoted me about $80-100 per chair plus fabric (two yards per chair). I thought it was on the expensive side. I google slipcover tutorials, found a relatively easy one and sewed it myself. It came out pretty good. Now I just have to find the time to do all of them.
If you want to go the one-size-fits-all route, you can try this store: http://www.slipcovershop.com/
Hope that helps.
I do slipcover by mail. Check out my website:

I'd be happy to make some covers for you. I just need pictures and measurements. I can use your fabric or mine.
You can send me a message through my website. Thanks,
