I know this has been discussed before, but I really didn't pay attention because we had always planned on moving ourselves. Well, now for several reasons we are considering using movers but have no idea how much it costs or who to call. Any recomendations, thoughts, pointers and approximate costs would be appreciated!
Thanks
Re: Moving Companies?
We have used Weleski's and were very happy with them.
You might want to re-think that:

DH's new employer had us use south hills movers last year. i had some concerns but ultimately had no problems whatsoever. i have no clue what it cost, but they were pretty darn worth whatever it was! they packed our entire house and had it loaded on to the truck (minus the mattress, pillows and comforter i was using that night) in 5.5 hours. they arrived at the destination on the determined day on time (early even, if i recall) and had the truck unloaded in to the apt in no more than 2 hours. those men know how to carry sh!t and shuffle! i was truly amazed.
now, if only i could have paid them to UNPACK. that would have been glorious. that took us months. it was a PITA to unwrap each item from the 5 sheets of packing paper that they used. but hey, at least nothing broke!
Oh wow, maybe we should! I thought someone on here recommended it, but I can't recall who it was now.
I think it was me Mandy- we just used Don Farr to move us out of our house and was very happy with the move out process and crew. Plus, the quote/actual pricing we received from them was very reasonable. I did some research on them and they have done quite a bit of "realigning" in the past year and looks like they may have trimmed some of the fat. I actually contacted Deily Moving as some recommended above and found out they are now part of Don Farr as they were acquired by them. I called Deily, made an appt for a quote and then the day before Don Farr called to confirm my appt. I was all thrown off at first because they said Don Farr instead of Deily so ended up calling them back and asking if they were Deily Moving and they told me about the acquisition. We had 2 friends use Don Farr and were happy with their services and then I think it was on this board I read a few good recommendations for Deily Moving so we went with them. Based on all the changes, it seems like it is hard to tell exactly what you'll get but I can't complain so far.
Thanks for the input! I'll discuss the negative reviews with them to see what they say, but it helps to know that your first hand experience was a positive one.
Oh, wow. Ours was half that amount.
That's a little high, but I'd expect it to be around $1,000. I haven't found anyone that can do it for much less than that.
There are a TON of negative reviews online for them. Two Men & A Truck get great reviews. You get what you pay for.
