Advice: Punch List

I closed on my condo and moved in about 3 months ago.  We purchased the unit new from the builder. On the walk through we noticed a crack in a kitchen cabinet. We were told that this could be sealed and covered. No big deal. Fast forward, this still has not been fixed.  The builder has said they've sent someone to fix it, but I'm not blind and I'm not stupid and I can see the crack there.  When I've tried to address this with them, I'm not really getting a response.  Is there anything I can do? I don't really want to drag a lawyer into this as its not a huge deal, but I feel like my punch list should have been satisfied by now.  Especially such a minor request in the scheme of home repair.

Re: Advice: Punch List

  • With our new home (moved in 2 weeks ago) we've had similiar issues - though ours was water pouring in the door on our laminate wood when it rained! We have a 1 yr warranty with our builder. We make sure to email him (documentation) and call to get things fixed.

Find out what your warranty info is and tell them to provide you days to meet the person who is to fix it. That way you are there and they will get the work done.

    Good luck!
