How are things now that you've settled in some more?
I wanted to ask -- how's the sound insulation? We added some extra to the bathrooms due to some complaints we heard from ppl who built w/ Ryan a few years ago, but I was wondering if things were better now. I'm really hoping I won't wake our sensitive sleeper when I'm getting ready in the mornings!
Re: ** lala **
Things are going really well. We have our 30 day review tomorrow and we have some things that need fixed. Our yard is sinking right where our back steps are so it's difficult to get to the yard. Hopefully they fix that asap because it's hard to get our dog to go down the crazy slanted steps.
I haven't really noticed any noise issues. I do have to get used to dh getting ready for work in the master bath while I'm sleeping. But he doesn't wake the girls who are at the other end of the hall.
How are things going on the house?
Oh no! They should definitely fix that for you. You earned those steps!
Yes, the kids are at the other end of the hall, so I'm hoping it won't be a problem. Lanna's a heavy sleeper, but Wes is not at all.
They just finished priming our walls and they're going to start our hardwood today. That's so exciting b/c it's one of the things I'm dieing to see! The other is our brick, which was STILL not started, but supposedly will be today (although we've heard that a few times). We're still set to close on 8/30 though, which sucks, but I'm resigned to it now.
Yeah, dh is pretty loud in the bathroom in the morning (smacking is razor off the sink every 2 minutes) but has yet to wake the girls. Now the garbage truck on the other hand gets my youngest up every Thursday
.
Isn't it exciting to start to see it come together? The rooms will look even bigger when they're painted. I can't believe they didn't start the brick yet. At least they didn't push your close date back anymore.
We're right in the middle of where they're finishing Phase II and starting III, so there's no avoiding the noise from that. And I know from our PM they like to start early. Wes is not a late sleeper by any means, but I'd imagine naps will be challenging.
I know, they were supposed to start it on 7/19! Our PM says it's not a concern b/c I guess the outside goes up so quickly that it would rarely cause a delay in the schedule. He's more worried about the inside (it sounds like the untilities ppl are behind right now). It just sucks b/c I'm so anxious to see it!
