LONGING FOR THE ROMANCE YOU & HUBBY HAD BEFORE KIDDOS ENTERED THE PICTURE?

Since taking on the roles of "Mom & Dad" has your relationship with hubby taken a hit? Date nights don't exist anymore?

Re: LONGING FOR THE ROMANCE YOU & HUBBY HAD BEFORE KIDDOS ENTERED THE PICTURE?

  • We promised to have date night at least twice a month and we usually have a family member watch one night and a babysitter we pay for the other. We also let the other go out every once in a while. Since our little one goes down at 7pm I usually will meet up with some of my friends after that for a drink or two. It is so important to make it, we try to spend some alone time during the week at home usually we cuddle and watch TV or a movie. In the beginning we went out even for an hour (so exhausted) since we both think it is sooo important. Can you get a babysitter?

  • Our relationship in itself hasn't taken a hit but dating has. We do get out but it's only when his mom comes to visit. And she is here a lot and will stay here for months at a time..which I don't mind because then we get out once a week! But when she isn't here it's difficult to get out. It's funny because tonight I wanted to chat with him about that. We don't know really anyone in our area. But my mom lives two hours away. Which...is far to drive on a weekly basis for babysitting but I wanted to bring it up to him that 1-2 times a month won't kill us. I am sure he will agree considering he looks forward to date nights.

Until then we do things that keep the romance going. We have kind of accepted the fact that you don't absolutely have to go out to keep the romance going. It's better to try on a daily basis then just give up because you can't get out.
