Hi Ladies! Question for you!

I haven't been around posting much because i've been super busy with life and work and we just found out we are expecting so i've been on the bump. But I wanted to ask you ladies a question since I love you guys and I know you guys aren't judgy wenches lol

Every year my friends and I go on a girls trip in July, we've done it since our freshman year in college, this year we pushed it back to Dec since a few of us had weddings etc. Well the location is Vegas and I just found out I am expecting so i'll be around 5 months then.

Assuming my Dr approves it, would it be completely ridiculous for me to still go?? I've never been to Vegas and I don't drink and didn't before the baby, my friends aren't big clubbers more shows, museums and pool type activities. And if they did go to the club I would stay back in the hotel room with the non clubbers.

DH says to go but I may put a damper on the fun since ppl won't want to leave me behind....he also said he would side eye a 5 month pregnant lady in Vegas which got me to thinking if everyone would think that too....

What do you guys think? Stay or go?

Flight and hotel are booked and losing the money isn't a factor....

Re: Hi Ladies! Question for you!

  • Congrats on expecting!!  When are you due?  (Sorry, I'm being lazy instead of just doing the math!)  I'm due in very early March!

As far as Vegas, I totally wouldn't judge someone who is in Vegas 5 months pregnant.  Now, I may judge you if you're dancing on a bar with a cocktail in one hand and a cigarette in the other, but I think it is safe to assume that won't be you!

From my research, the second trimester is the best one.  You're finished with M/S but you aren't big enough to be uncomfortable, so I say go.  I don't think you'll put a damper on the trip and it sounds like you'll be able to do all the activities.

Have fun and congrats again to you and DH.

  • Congratulations! I would still go if I were you. I wouldn't judge a pregnant lady in Vegas, only if they were out on the strip in the middle of the night, etc.

    Congratulations, that is so exciting!!!!

I would definitely say to still go. Regardless of the location, you are there for a weekend with your girlfriends and if they really aren't clubbers, what is the big deal? Vegas isn't just about the party scene, even though that is all you ever hear about, there are so many other things to do and I think it would be a blast to go with all your girlfriends! Go and have a great time, no one will judge you!

  • Go... especially if you've never been. I'm not a gambler but I think Vegas is great once or twice. Walk around the Bellagio and look at the amazing gardens and stunning stores, I've seen one of my favorite of all time art exhibits as a traveling exhibit in one the the hotels- a collection of enamel by Fabregee including Fabragee eggs.

There are fun shows (though they can be expensive) and I've gone to a club once just to catch the band.

You won't be side-eyed... there are lots of pregnant people in Vegas. It's not all drinking :-) There are a lot of neat shops, exhibits, shows (the water feature, the pirate ship), and just things to see. Enjoy it- take the tram when you can to save walking and be easy on yourself and have fun.

  • April 3!! Barely April lol
  • Thanks ladies....Yau'll made me feel better!
  • I did a girls trip with a 6 mnth pregger lady and she was fun and did dinner and danced and went to all the day trips with us. She loved it and glad she went! :) Have fun!

  • Agree with the other ladies go! Have fun and who cares if you're pregnant I promise you there have been pregnant ladies in Vegas doing way worse than you want to do. I think it'll be a good trip for you before the baby gets here!

Congrats on the baby!! I know you and H are super excited!

  • I agree w/ PP, you should definitely go! If you stick to shows and laying by the pool no one should side eye you. I also agree that it sounds like a great trip before your baby comes. Congrats!

    hahaha  yes!

if it were me, i would TOTALLY go, there's so much to do, plus it'll be nice for you to spend time with your gfs before baby comes.  from what i've read doctor's really only discourage flying in your last month.

  • I live in Vegas so i see pretty much all of it.  I see NOTHING wrong with you going.  Like a PP said if you were drinking and smoking that is one thing, but there is SO much more to do here then drinking.  Just bring comfy shoes and your going when it will not be to hot so that is good to.
