a sad reality for my gay friend...
per his email, "sad when Californian's care more about chickens and their "space" than they do about gay people and their happiness".
God, I couldn't agree more:( .....
Re: a sad reality for my gay friend...
very sad
Omg, I didn't think about it that way. Makes me want to cry, both for the farm animals and same sex couples. I think gay people should continue to lead their life the way they want to and not let this deter them from achieving their American dream. They are not hurting anyone. If anything, it did raise a lot of good issues and hopefully our children can learn to be tolerant of people who are different despite their religious views. I hope your friend doesn't give up hope. There are 47% or so of us who feel the way he does. That's still saying a lot from where the country was let's say even 10-20 years ago.
I don't think Prop 2 will make a huge difference. They are still caged, even if they can move one wing. For years I chose to turn the other way and live in ignorant bliss, but I decided that this year was the year.
I went vegequarian recently and it's been the best thing ever. I still eat wild caught fish and eggs and some dairy and own leather products, but trying to decrease consumption slowly. I don't know if I can become vegan just yet.
