Overland Park Regional L&D??

What are your thoughts on this hospital and delivering there? What are the nurses like, the rooms, etc.....? I was hoping to go to SMMC but my doc does not go there. thanks!

Re: Overland Park Regional L&D??

  • oh that sucks. i had my dd at smmc and loved it!!!!!
  • My sister had both of her daughters at OPL&D and she loved it both times. The nurses (and her doctor) were wonderful, and the facilities are gorgeous. You should go check it out, it's really nice. Sorry, I know it's not first hand experience, but I did stay with her and go visit quite a bit both times. From a "visitor" point of view it was great-and she always talks about how much she liked it there.

  • DH works at OPR (not in L&D).  He says their L&D unit is fabulous and that is what they are known for.  I have never been in there to see it first hand, but according it him it sounds like a great place.  Good luck!
  • I was on bedrest at OPR for 2.5 months before delivering. Though it wasn't the easiest thing to do, the staff in antepartum and l&d were incredible, and I have kept in touch with a few of them. Take a tour (which they offer on Saturdays, if I recall correctly). They'll take you through L&D and the rooms. Good luck to you!
