Mojo's

Have any of you been to Mojo's?  I like the whole piano bar concept for the most part, but is this one worthwhile?  I never hear much about it.  Is it more about the silliness & playing/dueling or is it about people getting plastered?  Now, add to the equation that I'd be going with my mom: yay or nay?  We went to Howl at the Moon in Indy, because she's a piano player & likes watching them play; not so much for the drinking & such.

Opinions?

Re: Mojo's

  • The last few times I was there it was college fight songs and sing along Journey with drunk, young 20 somethings.  Honestly, I would not take your mom there.  It's loud and rowdy.

That's precisely why I'm asking.  Some are definitely classier than others.  It's a bummer, since it is something we'd enjoy if it were a niceish place.

    Agreed.

You can also get a feel for the clientele by checking out the people in line outside on Friday and Saturday nights, if you want to go with your own gut instinct.

  • I agree with the others.  I've been there a couple of times for bachelorette parties, and it's fun for that purpose.  I definitely would not take my mom there, though.
  • I took my friend there last summer for her bacherlorette party. She wanted to go. I stayed there all night long and didn't like it. Upstairs is a bar and dance floor so I probably would've been fine there, but she wanted us to stay in front of the pianos. Oh well I wouldn't go but that's up to you. I wouldn't take your mom there but they do have a lot of profanity.
