We have to replace the windows in a house we purchased. It is a total gut job...
What style would you replace them with in the front? The front are crank windows while the back of the house has double hung.
Would you put window grids in or plain glass?

They are very tall and skinny. About 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

Re: Replacing Windows
It depends on what you want the home to look like. Replacing the cranks with double-hungs would make your home look more cottagey and traditional. (I'm assuming you would put a single double-hung in each double-crank space.) The grids, either full window or just on the upper panes, would make it even more so. The cranks make it look a little more contemporary -- but in a 1980s sort of way.
Personally, I'd prefer the double-hungs.
