I know we don't live in Cali, yet I really thought this would open so many doors for gay and lesbians. It's truly sad that people just can't be happy together and live the life that they deserve.
Re: Prop 8 fails =(
yeah...i found it very frustrating as well...
my sis lives in cali...
I thought it failing would be a good thing- Ellen Degeneres was begging EVERYONE to vote "no"!

Ohhh. Nevermind. It passed. That is terrible =(
prop 8 was passed....putting a ban on gay marriage....
so i guess what cassie meant is the no on prop 8 failed... LOL
it is ok....
it is just so unfair to me...i will never forget a very brief converstion i had with my sis and her partner shortly after mine and brandon's wedding...and although i have always felt the way i do about the issue...she really opened my perspective on it...not that i will EVER understand, but it definitely became more personal to me...
I am so saddened by this. In some respects, I think this election really set us back several years.
I know a lot of people don't agree with homosexuality and gay marriage, but really - what do you care? If two people are in love and happy, they shouldn't be denied the right to have that lifestyle. It really devastates me that they will be.
Did you also hear that Arkansas passed a law saying no two unmarried individuals - male/female included - can adopt a child?
That is assbackwards.
This devestates me!! I can't believe the way our foster system needs loving people to help with these children and they are not allowing them to be a family. I can't even put into words how much this upsets me!!! Why keep a child who needs love and support away from someone who WANTS them!
Prop 2 (pretty much the same as prop 8) was passed in FL too.
AZ passed prop 102 (i think that's the number). One of my good friends that I sang with in college (he's gay) lives in AZ and he's just devastated.?
live and let live, i say.?
words escape me.
frankly, we need more people who are in a loving committed relationship to become the example of a happy union. and if those people are of the same sex then good for them! in this day where mariage is a laughable institution of running to a vegas chapel to wed and 65 hours later ending in divorce, we need stable and loving partners.
exactly!!!! because heterosexual relationships and marriages have proven to be the only thing that leads to successful upbringings....
give me a break.... LOL
Agreed.
this crap is indeed upsetting. It's particularly disturbing in CA because it was taking AWAY a right the court already had given...it wasn't a 'preemptive' thing. They took away a right. Blah.
