1. What are you most excited about for the season change?
I cannot wait to wear my Steve Madden Intyce boots, and my scarves! I love to wear cotton scarves but I am in Texas and would die of a heat stroke if I tried to wear one now! I didn't have skinny jeans while pregnant so I didn't get much use out of my Intyce boots last year and I want to wear them every day when it cools down!
2. What will be something new/different you want to incorporate into your wardrobe?
I'd like to wear more statement pieces while keeping it classic. I love cardigans and like to wear them over shirts with embellishments, etc. but I tend to be more careful and not expirement much with colors because H is a very traditional dresser and I feel like he judges me when I step out of the box. Because we work from home together I like wearing pieces he likes or will comment on. I do want to wear more girly outifts, including more dresses with tights and my boots.
3. What are you most looking forward to wearing again or for the first time?
Scarves, and some sweaters. I love comfy sweaters! And I got some new pajamas that are too thick for summer so I can't wait to wear them lol.
4. Do you shop ahead for seasons or just but once the season changes? If you shop ahead, have you already bought for fall and if so what?
I will consider adding pieces if they are on sale, my style, etc. for upcoming seasons. I like adding pieces that help transition between the seasons, especially summer to fall. Like the JCrew camp shirts, they are cotton and can be rolled at the sleeves and worn with shorts and a tank underneath. And for fall they can be worn with the sleeves down, a shirt underneath and a cute scarf or a blazer over it.
5. How do you decide on your outifts? ie - the day of, the day before, by the week, etc. If you pre-plan, how do you do so? How do you organize what you want to wear?
I would LOVE a program like what Cher had in Clueless where she could scroll and mix and match tops and bottoms, and I'm pretty sure something like that probably exists. I like to plan my week ahead so I can iron everything and make sure it is clean and not buried in my closet. Especially having two kids, I need to get and stay organized to get out of the house on time and get them to daycare/school. I like feeling put together and not dropping them off in yoga pants all the time!
1. What are you most excited about for the season change? End of season sale!!!
2. What will be something new/different you want to incorporate into your wardrobe? Skinny leather leggings. I didn't get to wear them much last year, but I think they would be more mainstream this year.
3. What are you most looking forward to wearing again or for the first time? Repeats from last year: JCrew Enevelope Coat, Vince cashmere sweater, and Allsaints beaded skirt
Wearing for the first time: Wedge boots
4. Do you shop ahead for seasons or just but once the season changes? If you shop ahead, have you already bought for fall and if so what? My ahead of season is end of season for next year!!! But generally I don't buy full price for the coming season, unless I love it so much and I can wear it now. These are the items I have bought so far in clearance for fall/winter:
Wedge boots on sale at NM:
CL booties on super sale at Last Call:
Black knit dress by Vanessa Bruno Athe a total steal from this canadian store in the mall called Artizia:
Lightweight coat for Texas winter, M Missoni, find at Nords Rack:
5. How do you decide on your outifts? ie - the day of, the day before, by the week, etc. If you pre-plan, how do you do so? How do you organize what you want to wear?
My work outfit is more like a uniform, dress pants, button down or a conservative top, sometimes a suit and a silk top with ruffle detail, I have a few in rotation. For going out, that's when I get experimental, I usually have a vision, like I know I want to wear this dress and I make the outfit around it, or I know I want to wear specific shoes and I plan my outfit around it. When I buy something new, I try it on at home with many different shoes and accessories and make sure I can do more than one look with it. So I almost know what goes with what in my closet. That said I have some items that I bought it because I loved it but have nothing to wear it with or have no place to wear it to (this is more the case!!, I have so many evening gowns, and I rarely get invited to a formal event!!
1. I'm just tired of summer clothes - ready to wear my La Canadienne riding boots again!
2. I'm trying to incorporate stripes and accessories more. I've already bought a white and medium blue striped boatneck sweates and a geometric fall colored scarf.
3. See the boots above
Thinking I'll get a pair of brown boots as well if I can find the right pair.
4. I shop ahead...bought a couple sweaters (see above) already.
5. Generally plan that day or the day before. Once in a while for a special day/meeting etc I'll plan up to a week ahead, especially if I'm going to be seeing the same people at multiple things.
1. My fashion sense is a lot better in the colder months lol. So I am just excited to wear fall/winter clothes. I love layering, wearing leggings, tights, sweater dresses, and hats.
2. I am purchasing this cute bright fushia shift dress that I saw.
3. My crocheted sweater tunic. It is one of my most worn and my favorite.
4. I shop once it changes.
5. I just prepare the day before.
1. What are you most excited about for the season change? FALL FLAVORS! I NEED SOME PUMPKIN & SPICED APPLE IN MY LIFE.
2. What will be something new/different you want to incorporate into your wardrobe? COLORED SKINNY JEANS IN AN AUTUMNAL SHADE
3. What are you most looking forward to wearing again or for the first time? MY TORY BURCH RIDING BOOTS FROM LAST YEAR. THEY ARE AN AWESOME SHADE OF COGNAC, AND GO WITH EVERYTHING.
4. Do you shop ahead for seasons or just but once the season changes? If you shop ahead, have you already bought for fall and if so what? BOTH, BUT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO STOP BUYING AHEAD OF SEASON SINCE EVERYTHING IS MARKED UP.
5. How do you decide on your outifts? ie - the day of, the day before, by the week, etc. If you pre-plan, how do you do so? How do you organize what you want to wear? LIFE WOULD BE EASIER IF I PLANNED, BUT INSTEAD, I JUST WAKE UP AND GRAB WHATEVER.
