Lady-Comp Fertility Monitor

Would love to hear about anyone's personal experience with the Lady-Comp Fertility Monitor as a method of contraception. I'm looking into purchasing one, but given the price, would like to hear people's reviews.

Re: Lady-Comp Fertility Monitor

  • I had never heard of it until I read your post.  Although the price is super steep, looks like it has great reviews on Amazon.

  • I hadn't heard of it either until just recently... but from what I've read so far, people are raving about it...

  • I had the baby comp for a while (it's the mini version of Lady comp). It worked well for a bit, then totally crapped out. You have to buy an additional "customer support package" for more $$.

I don't recommend it, but try it for yourself. Maybe the Lady Comp version is better.

  • Hi there!

My DH and I have used the Lady Comp for almost 2 years. We absolutely love it. We started out on the pill and it took a year for us to realize that was not for us - I've spent the last 2 years getting over the hormonal detriment it brought upon my body. Also, I would highly recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility as a book resource.

    Positives:

    - Only use barriers when you need them (we use a diaphragm but that's a different topic). We only use something about 2 weeks of the month!

    - Completely hormonal free birth control that is immediately reversible (and we know what day to try when we're ready to get pregnant)

    - I have learned my body's schedule and so has my husband. I'll be "cranky" and he'll say, "it's that time of the month!" It's awesome!

    - Lasts for years... we dropped ours from the nightstand and it broke. We called them and they said to ship it to them and they fixed it for free! Dividing the cost over multiple months where you could be buying the pill helped us make the decision.

    Cons:

    - Something to remember every morning (but so is the pill)

    - Takes a few months for it to "learn" your cycle so at first you have to use protection more.

Overall, we love it and I'd be glad to answer any more questions!
