Did you go to college? If so, where and what did you study? Yes, I went to Illinois State University and studied Curriculum and Instruction to get my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am currently studying Reading Education to get my Reading Specialist certification through Benedictine University.
What is your job/occupation now? And what is your dream job? I work as an 8th grade English and History teacher. Right now, this is my dream. Someday, I may want to move up to teaching teacher candidates at the college level, but I am not sure.
Favorite athlete, actor, actress? Athlete - Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina. I don't really have favorite actors and actresses.
Favorite cartoon character? Garfield!
Favorite holiday? Christmas
Favorite holiday spot? Like vacation? Well probably the resort we went to for our honeymoon -- Couples, Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica.
What famous person could you see yourself being friends with IRL? I like to hope I am cool enough to be friends with Reese Witherspoon, but I think it's mostly because I relate to her in all those cheesy romantic comedies.
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? DH wore a shirt that asked this very question today. Let's go with 1,000.
Did you ever go to camp as a child? If so, what kind and how often? Yes, I went to a church camp for one week every summer with my family and another week every summer for the all-kids version. In high school, I worked at this camp for about 6 weeks each summer.
Best and worst job duty you've ever had to perform? At this job or all time? This job... Best: Probably the trips I go on with my students.. Love it. Worst: Boo-boo room with all the kids who've messed up for hours at a time. Never fun.
All time...Best: Anything from my college job where I just got to sit and do my homework ready for something to happen. Worst: dealing with women stripping nude when I would fit them for bras at JCPenney.
What is your favorite TV show? Guilty pleasure -- Bachelor/Bachelorette
How long did you and your H date before becoming engaged? 2 years
What is your favorite time of year? Spring!
Have you been watching the Olympics? Somewhat.. try to catch as much of the gymnastics as possible
If yes, what has been your favorite sport to watch? Gymnastics!
What's your favorite thing to do on a day off? Sleep, swim, see friends
How long have you been a teacher? Starting my 5th year, fourth at this school
What do you like best about it? Getting to watch the kids make progress and improve as humans. I also love watching academic progress, but seeing them grow in character makes me love it.
What has been the most difficult thing to overcome with teaching? Figuring out which battles are important and which ones aren't.
What inspired you to start your weight loss journey? I needed knee surgery to repair my meniscus and had to rehabilitate my leg. I had to get my leg strong enough to run. Also, my doctor smacked some sense into me about how unhealthy I was being and the impact this would have on my long-term.
Who would be on your list of people you can F without H getting mad? Probably any athlete on our shared teams-- so any Packer or Cardinal.
What is on your bucket list (things to do before you die) ? I want to bungee jump and sky dive before we get pregnant. I want to travel to Europe, especially Paris pretty soon.
Describe you and your H's first date. Applebees, bowling, and watching the Office. It was adorable and giggly and fun.
When and how did you know he was "the one" ? It slowly kind of happened. The moment I figured it out, we were dancing in the living room to Zac Brown Band's Whatever It Is and he was singing to me and I didn't cringe at the line "she's gunna be my wife" and he looked right into my eyes when he said it and I remember thinking "yep, I sure am" and wasn't scared anymore. That's when I knew. It was probably August-ish 2009. We had been dating for around 8 months.
Do you have/want kids? If so, how many? Names? Not yet, but someday. Sometime in the next 2-5 years, we will try. We want 2-3. Names are decided to some extent, but secret.
Where did you go on your HM? Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. Best place ever!!
Favorite genre of music? I'm a country girl.
Favorite hobby? Does Pinterest count? Otherwise, swimming!
Favorite date day/night activity? Day: swimming, shopping, minigolf, or visiting brewpubs. Night: bowling, nice dinner, or just movies on the couch!
