I wanted to make a list of creative things to do with your wedding dress after the wedding?

I want to do something creative/fun with it! Not just trash the dress, but something else...

Re: What to do with wedding dress?

  • i've heard of people using the fabric from the dress to make a Christening outfit for their baby, or you could have it turned into a less formal dress for yourself.

my dress is currently at my seamstress having this done, christening gown, bonnet, blanket and booties.  She is also making a hankie trimmed with the lace to tuck away in case I ever have a little girl so she can have it for her wedding day

I was going to say this too! I don't know what to do with mine either. I've thought of selling it, but I don't know if I would be sad after I got rid of it. The shop I bought it from has an option where you can have it cleaned and framed, but it's crazy expensive and I wouldn't know where to put it!

  • I'm thinking of donating it, not sure were yet.

  • The fabric from the dress could be used to make throw pillows for your bed (or a small pillow for your children to use at their wedding) or you could take some of the fabric and wrap it around a wedding album for the cover. It could be turned into a Christmas tree skirt :)

  • Baptismal gown what I was planning to do! I'm not sure if that's the fun/creative idea you are looking for. I like the tree skirt idea. Maybe turning it into a shorter gown you could wear on anniversaries? I saw a girl once that wore hers for a photo shoot on her 1st anniversary.
