Laminate wood flooring

Hey all!

We just recently moved into our new home we had built. I opted for the laminate wood flooring throughout the first level on account of the dogs and future (I hope sooner than later) childen.

I bought a Swiffer Vac and use it about 2x a day because of our Rotty who won't stop shedding. I am also looking to 'mop' the floors but want to becareful on what I use because I don't want to ruin the laminate. I've been considering a Swiffer Wet Jet. Anyone have any comments on the Wet Jet or what they use??

Also, swiffering with the swiffer vac 2x a day (or more) is getting expensive so I designed my own cloth cover by crocheting one.

We have laminate floors in our house too. They are either swept or vacuumed daily (we have 2 dogs and 1 cat). I use the Swiffer wet pads to 'mop' the floors. You want to be careful that you don't saturate the floors when 'mopping' them.

Thanks for the tip! Do you buy the solution? I've seen posts on the web regarding creating a new solution to put in the exsisting bottle. Do you do this?

I haven't made my own solution yet. I'd love to, but I just started a new job and I'm up way earlier than I used to have to get up, so by the time I get home I'm too exhausted to do much. Hope to try it soon, though.

I use the swiffer wet mop pads for our laminate, seems to do the trick...the only think is that sometimes it takes quite a bit of going over the same area if there are 'greasy spots'....like after h's sisters come over and play xbox barefoot....theres often footprints that need to gone over at least twice.

I use either the vinegar and water method or the Shaklee all purpose cleaner, but instead of using the Swiffer pad I put a cleaning rag on the bottom of the swiffer so that my solution will not leave a streak.
