Shaklee cleaning products - anyone heard of or used them?

I'm intrigued (you can watch youtube videos or tons of bloggers about these eco friendly cleaning products). However, when you go to read reviews online...there aren't any and I can't find an ingredients list.  So I'm intrigued and sketched out at the same time. I did buy a couple of products, I figured they were likely not as risky as something like Lysol.

Re: Shaklee cleaning products - anyone heard of or used them?

  • My family swears by the laundry detergent. My grandma has been using Shaklee for at least 40 years.

They used to supply these super tasty vitamin c vitamins that my cousins and i would eat like candy as kids!

  • I use the Basic H and have really liked it so far!  I have to have a nice smell though so I just add about 20 drops of essential oil like lavender, lemon, or tea tree oil.
  • I use the all purpose cleaner on my laminate floors and windows/glass...Love it...and a few drops goes a long way. One bottle could last for well over a year.

  • My mom used to sell Shaklee products for a while when I was growing up and then she just switched to buy them once in a while.  They worked good for us.

  • My mother and grandmother swear by Shaklee! Especially the Basic H that someone mentioned earlier.

  • Basic H and G will pretty much cover ALL cleaning needs. I cannot reccomend them enough, they are AMAZING and the bottles last FOREVER. I have this little book that tells me the measurements to make different types of solutiongs (All purpose, toilet bowl, window/glass, etc.) that I got from my consultant.

I have not personally used the clothing detergent or the dishwashing soap but my friend became a consultant just because she buys them for herself so much. She's a new mom and she's COMPLETELY crazy about chemicals around her child (understandably!). She's also allergic to most detergents and Shaklee works for her.

I'm allergic to most cleaning supplies (would give me rashes on my arms and any other slight contact) but this stuff gives me NO problems (although the G when undiluted is POTENT - it doesn't aggrevate my allergies).

tl;dr - It is AWESOME and worth every penny!!

  • I forgot to talk about the company - as you can see from their website they have their fingers in all things homey and healthy. You won't find a specific ingredient list with a quick google search, but they do say that Basic H is "Natural sustainably sourced ingredients- derived from corn and coconuts."

They've been around a while though, I'm sure they've been tested up and down by various watchdogs.
