Stood up again..... sigh....
I have parent conferences this week. The kids got out early so I can meet with parents for today and tomorrow. Then no school on Friday.
So far, I have 3 parents that did not show up. It is a good thing that I have lots of time on Friday open to reschedule.
Re: Stood up again..... sigh....
The parents picked the times at back to school night. Reminders went home twice with many opportunities to change dates/times if needed.
I can't say that it happens often because each year is different. But it is definitely not uncommon.
shelly,
so true about flaky parents= flaky kids.
ps: i love your siggy.
Wow, I had no clue that parent don't show up. ?I just had a whole talk about this with my DH. ?I told him that is the parent don't care or make the effort about their kids education, what is that saying to the kids!?
What happens if the parents never show or never reschedule? ?Has that ever happened??
I have had that happen before. In fact, that happened last year. I ended up talking to the grandma because it was a matter of possible retention for the student. The grandma was not much help though. She listened and said she would pass the information to the mom, but I really did not see changes in the student. It was not until the very end of the year, when we were making the final decision on the student's placement for the following year that I saw the mom. And she only met up because she wanted her son held back.
