Please tell me someone else has seen this documentary. After hearing so much about it - not the details of the story, but the effect that it has on people who have seen it - I sat down last night to watch with DH. I knew very little - basically what you'd find out in the first 20 minutes. Poor DH knew nothing.
I don't regret watching it in the slightest - I'm really, really glad I watched it - but holy hell I just feel broken. And in awe. And broken.
If you haven't seen it please don't read too much about it. I'm incredibly grateful that I went in knowing very little. Fyi, it is available streaming on Netflix. I'm not going to recommend it. But I am going to say that nothing has affected me so much in a very long time.
Re: Dear Zachary
I started to cry 20 minutes in and just...kept going. I hope you didn't read all of the details in case you ever watch it. It was equal parts awe inspiring and horrifying. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

So no one else go to wiki for it!! I read "the plot" thinking it wouldnt be too detailed, but the last line "gave away" the ending......I had never heard of this so I had no idea what happened.
Yeah. I just looked at the wiki. Bummer.
The documentary is made real time over the years from 2001-2003 (with hundreds of flashbacks of Andrew since the filmmaker was one of his best friends and made every "movie" growing up with him) with no one knowing what's going to unfold. I was clueless.

If that's all you read, you're good - definitely stop reading now though. Let me know if/when you decide to watch it.

Okay...I've spent some time on IMDB this morning. If you want to go in knowing nothing, don't read any reviews - but if you want to know the basics read a few, just avoiding the ones that warn of spoilers.
