Viva Las Vegas baby!

Going on a girls' Vegas vacay with my sis and mom, leaving tomorrow, woot!!  We'll be at the Cosmopolitan for 3 nights, then the Red Rock Resort for 2 nights.  I know that's alot of time for Vegas but we want to do some off-strip stuff as well.

Can anyone give me some recs for old town Vegas/Fremont Street?

Also anything new to do or places to eat at?  I've been there 3 times with the last time being 2 years ago...

Thanks!

  • The best thing I ever did in downtown Vegas was eat here. :)

  • Vic & Anthony's inside the Golden Nugget is among the best meals I've ever had in Vegas and the service was phenomenal - and the steak was one of the best I've had anywhere, ever.  The ala carte sides were a little spendy, but when you see how gargantuan the portions are, they can easily be split 3-4 ways.

Fremont Experience is the absolute highlight of downtown and it's free every hour on the hour.  There's usually some kind of cover band playing underneath the ziplines, free show.

This probably goes without saying, but when downtown, stick to the main Fremont strip - do not wander off that main drag by yourself or otherwise.

I saw Vic & Anthony's and thought it looked like a great place for dinner but we'd already eaten, so definitely next time!

We loved the Fremont Street Experience :)
