Fashion faux pas - dark grey shoes w/ black outfit?

So I'm being like a little kid and I want to wear all my new stuff at once.  I'm going out to dinner tonight and I have a new black dress (casual chic, not too dressy) and a new pair of shoes - really cute dark grey suede wedge heels that I've also been dying to break in.  Do you think it would look odd to wear them together?

Re: Fashion faux pas - dark grey shoes w/ black outfit?

  • no, i don't think it's odd
  • I wore an outfit like this the other day...lol. My shoes were dark grey, but not suede and were stillettos. I wore a black sweater dress and it went fine. Your only problem would be suede in fall, which is more of a fashio faux pas, due to the weather. Wet and suede do not mingle well.
  • I prefer when things are not too matchy matchy.  Most stylists would prefer a least a little interest in outfits whether it be a mixture of textures, colors, etc. in an outfit.  I am sure you looked great!
