The other day we found out the bank accepted our low-ball offer on a short sale home. The turnaround was less than a week, but that's more than likely because the bank had already approved another offer about 20K over ours (the buyer ended up not getting the mortgage) and had therefore already done its research on the surrounding homes, etc.
Super excited, but also nervous. I did not expect things to happen so quickly! We're now entering into attorney review. We're getting a 203k loan - anyone else doing this? We need to do our inspection and walk-through with a contractor.
I want to make sure we get an excellent housing inspector, because I'm still surprised that the bank accepted our offer, and I want to know if it knows something we don't. I don't know if the previous potential buyer(s) did an inspection of the home. If they did, would we be able to find out the results?
