  • If you go to Boston stay downtown. You will have a much better time staying downtown and it will provide for less walking. The Back Bay Hotel is nice and so is any hotel near Copley. There are a lot of museums for the little one, take her to The Museum of Science, one of the best in Boston and very kid-friendly. I know Mass Vacation's site has a fall foliage tracker for Massachusetts so you might want to plan around that. I don't think that they start predicting the best times until the first week of September though. Also, there are a lot of other activities Boston has to offer so don't be deterred by the scare of a big city. Also, make sure to chck out the fall foliage and take nice driving routes that allow you to see a good portion of the landscape of New England. I think fall foliage 2012 will be much better than the foliage seen in 2011.
