Very sick dog -- a follow up...

The prior post was "Dog lost its voice" a bit further down.

The original problem was a lost voice and stomach upset. Last week he took the dog to a vet and turns out she has a cold and an eye infection. The owner was given drops for the eyes and antibiotics.

Turns out the dog is still quite ill. She won't let him put eye drops in and she is still throwing up, plus she's real lethargic.

I told the owner to keep an eye on all of this last week and to give her chicken broth. If anything, a dog will drink chicken broth.

This morning her eye wasn't lookiing great; it's got a grey film on it plus she is throwing up.

He took the dog to an evet; turns out now a liver problem is in the mix. They pumped her full of fluid and said nothing by mouth for the next 24 hours.

I told the dog's owner to get a second opinion tomorrow morning when the regular vet's office is open.

And I guess he wasn't thinking; the easiest thing to do would have been to muzzle her and then administer the eye drops. I imagine she's also in a great deal of pain with the eye infection she's got.
