Going for a 'redo' haircut

I got my haircut yesterday with a new stylist and I'm not happy with it. I'm going back tomorrow to have it fixed. Basically she cut it straight across so it has that 'just got a haircut' look. Since I have stick straight hair, it no longer has any texture or style. It's somewhat my fault because I didn't give her any direction but I didn't know what to say. I've been going to th same lady for years (she moved away) so I never really had to think about it. If I was smart I would have had her write down instructions. Anyway, how do I ask it not to look like I just got a haircut? Or should she simply understand that?
