PC vs laptop & desks question

Do you have a desktop PC or a laptop?

If you have a laptop, do you have a desk?

MH got me a laptop about a year ago. I have a desk in our guest room where my desktop PC is, which now is just a dumping ground for crap. Receipts, papers, pictures...Ugh. The clutter drives me nuts, its the room I walk past 100x a day too. I haven't sat at the desk since about a week after I got the laptop. Any "work" I need to do on my computer I do sitting on our couch, or at our kitchen table/bkfst bar. You know, its just one of those things that you totally overlook & neglect even though its irritating the crap out of you!

Since I still need a place for some things & a place to keep my laptop when Im not using it & am charging it, I was looking @ something like this or this to replace the stupid clunky clutter desk.

Anyone have something similar at home they can share? Im not looking to spend over $100 (I know option #2 is over that right now)

TIA!

Re: PC vs laptop & desks question

  • When I went to laptop only I sold the desk on craigslist.  I bought a 2 drawer lat file for papers etc and to hold the printer.  That is now in my guest room but it was in my dining room when I lived in a one bedroom.
  • H and I each have a laptop but we each have a desk too (we each got our own office in the new house!) Both are black and streamlined that we got from Office Max Furniture. I think they were over $100, but Office Max did have some other nice options.

H uses his desk for sorting his football cards that he collects. I'm a teacher and will sometimes use my desk to grade papers or lesson plan because I like a big table/desk where I can spread all my crap out that isn't in the dining room, KWIM? We also have hanging files in a couple of the drawers of our desks where we store files.
