Last day of daycare...

So, Gavin's last day of d/c is Friday! (Party!!! and Crying)

Anyway, he's going to bring in a treat and I asked him today if he wanted to get a card for the director. He asked if he could bring in flowers for the teachers (there are 4 of them) and a card for each of them.

Is there anything else you would do (or have done)?

Re: Last day of daycare...

  • AW!  He's a big boy now!  I think I've mentioned this here before...but the change that happens in kindergarten is amazing.  They start as babies and finish as big kids.

I think cards and flowers is plenty.

  • I can't believe he's going to kindergarten!  Craziness.  Is he excited?

I think the flowers and card are very sweet and definitely enough, I'm sure they will appreciate it!!

  • Crazy! What you suggested sounds lovely!

  • Oh God, I know - it IS crazy! (And Amber, what you said is very interesting and not something I have heard before, so I am almost intrigued to see the transformation!)

Ok - then flowers/cards is what I'll stick with. I'll take Gavin to pick out flowers that they can plant, instead of bouquets. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Aw, where does the time go?  And, what a big year for your family!

I think the idea of flowers and a card is very sweet!

  • I think the flowers/card is an incredibly sweet gesture! Wow, I can't believe he's going to kindergarten...
  • aw sweet!!  Can you believe kindergarten is here?  Caileigh's last day was bittersweet - she loved all her teachers & loves to go back to say hello to everyone.

Eamon moved to the toddler room today (sob sob) last time in the infant room for us!!

  • Good call. I need to talk to Heather about this. Her last day is in two weeks...

So hard to believe that in less than a month Gavin and Heather will both be kindergarteners!

I'm ok. I'm actually kind of impatient for school to start. I am pretty sure that Heather has been acting up because she's nervous about the change and won't talk about it. I also think she's going to LOVE it when she can read to herself. So part of me is ready for school to just start already! :-)

I think I will be more sad when Todd leaves daycare. It will be strange when the center we've been at since May '07 isn't a part of our daily lives anymore...

  • I'm not going to be prepared for this at all next year. I can't believe Gavin's old enough already for kindergarten! Sounds like you guys have had some awesome experiences over the past week.

I think the card and flowers idea was perfect.
