biggest loser in your offices?

My office wants to do a biggest loser competition, but we don't know where to begin.  If your office has done one, how did it work?  What was the prize??  Thanks for your help ladies!

Hi Tiffany,

They used to do this at my old job, usually twice/year.  I think each round ran about 10-12 weeks?  Everyone put money in to participate (I believe it was $10) then that money became the pot of money that the "biggest loser" won at the end.  There was a weekly weigh-in, done privately (in a file room, haha!) and recorded by someone who was not participating in the contest.  The weights were tracked on an excel spreadsheet by the recorder, and the results were tabulated the same as they do on the show (by percentage lost, not number of pounds)

My office has done one as well. only the honor system is used in weigh in days, everyone uses the same scale though. and the % lost is shared with participants weekly I think. The total weight is never shared though from what I understand. And I think their buy in is $5.

We did our Biggest Loser just like these.  Honor system, used the same scale and logged in Excel.  Largest % lost won.  We did $20 buy-ins because we found people took the challenge more seriously with the higher buy-in!
