I never had problems with plugged ducts with DD--but I'm going on my 3rd time this time around. My pumping output is down this week--and I don't really feel empty after pumping. Nolan hasn't really been into nursing either--except some lazy nursing on and off all night long.
So is the lack of output do to the plugged duct? And Nolan is lazy and doesn't feel like working for it?
Or is the plugged duct possibly a result of my pump not working as well? It's old, probably 8 years old, and I'm terrified it's going to break down sometime before the next 3 months is up. And Nolan's dis-interest is just a coincidence.
I guess it's the classic, which came first story. :-/
Re: Plugged Ducts?
If you think you have a plugged duct here's a trick the lactation consultant told me!
Take at least 600mg of ibuprofen(helps the clogged ducts), place heat on affected breast, and dangle feed son....here is what dangle feed means: place baby on bed or floor get on all fours and feed son upside down while on all fours, wherever you think the clogged duct is have your son's chin in that direction! I know it sounds weird but it works! ; ) it helped clear my clogged duct within 3 days!
