what to put on shelves?

I need help figuring out what to put on these glass shelves next to our tv. The top ones are so skinny nothing seems to work. I have a couple hurricane vases, but I don't know what to put in those either. Our couch is dark gray and we have a few lime green and turquoise accents.

Hopefully these pictures work. The bins on the bottom have my sons legos and small toys in them. The other blocks will go in his room.

This is the wall adjacent, so I don't want to overload the shelves with more pictures.

Maybe some more baskets to hold stuff? Some brightly colored wide and low ones? Cost Plus has a bunch of them along those lines.

Try looking on pinterest for bookcases or shelves, there are some great ideas that you should be able to use as a starting point.

We have this same set up...I have matching lamps on the very top, the second shelves are decorated with glass (i.e., glass vase, glass clock) , the remainer have colorful vases, and picture frames. And we have floating shelves over the TV to help balance it all out.  It is the main focus of our living room.
