Virginia Beach / Williamsburg *must dos*

Good morning ladies!

DH and I are going to Virginia Beach and WIlliamsburg in October.  We're spending two full days in each city.  Are there any must dos you'd recommend?

We normally like museums, good food and drinks, "unique" but kind of touristy things (we're definitely going to the Haunted House in VA Beach), and mild physical activity.  We're not huge hikers or anything but we don't mind a physical challenge here and there.

  • I'm no help with VA Beach, but DH and I honeymooned in Williamsburg.  I don't know if they're still open in October, but if you like amusement parks Busch Gardens is nice and has a good mix of thrill rides, shows, etc.  Obviously, Colonial Williamsburg is the big draw for the area and DH and I spent a whole day there just walking around, exploring the different buildings, craftsmen, etc.

  • busch gardens does hallowscream during the month of october. the whole park gets decorated and they put on a bunch of halloween-themed shows and rides. that's a lot of fun.
  • Something a little more "off the wall" that I wanted to do, but DH vetoed was President's Park...it's giant busts of the Presidents...I thought it would be funny.

Yankee Candle Factory was a fun touristy thing to do as well...DH didn't mind it (until I spent like an hour deciding what scent candle to get) there is a room where it snows and some other cutesy type things.
