Filling Snack Suggestions
My husband has a sensitive stomach and isn't really supposed to eat grains, nuts or dairy. Can anyone recommend some healthy filling snacks that don't fall in those categories? He keeps resorting to the things he's not supposed to eat because he always feels hungry. Thanks!
Re: Filling Snack Suggestions
I eat tons of fruit! I cut it up into slices and find that I will snack on it just like I would snack on junk food, only it's more filling and healthier. Another option for me is to cut up a cucumber and put it in a tupperware with grape tomatoes. I do a lot of mindless eating in the afternoon at my desk (I'm on a computer for most of the day), and it makes me feel better to be mindlessly eating fruits and veggies instead of candy or chips.
Another option I love is dried fruit, especially dried pineapple. It's not the healthiest thing for you (a LOT of sugar), but it works when I want something sugary, but don't want to eat candy.
