just married

Well hello everyone, I have been married 17 days! I am trying to cope with my now blended family and dealing with the other parents. I think I maybe on here to vent from time to time.

I'd highly advise you change your attitude and quick. You're not coping, or shouldn't be thinking of it this way, but you're adapting and learning to live with eachother as a new extended family. If you think of it as trying to "cope", you're already in the negative, rather than a potentially really positive change in your life.

  • Hi kthowell and congratulations on your marriage! It's great that you reaching out for support to deal with the new changes you are and will be experiencing in your marriage and family. I found some great articles on In-Laws and Blended Families from the website of the organization that I work for, Focus on the Family. I hope these will be helpful to you. They also have a free counseling helpline at 1-855-771-HELP (4357), if you're ever interested. May God bless your marriage and relationships with your new family members!
  • Congratulations! Time, patience, and an open mind are all your friends :)  Enjoy!
