What color accent wall should we have?

DH and I want to put an accent wall in our living room. Our paint color is similar to coffee with heavy cream. We don't have any accent colors in our living room. Our furniture is beige and espresso. We have spring/summer curtains the color of sage and our winter curtains are striped dark blue, light blue, and cream. We do have an area rug that is a combination of tan, orange/red, and dark sage.

I don't want to paint the accent wall another shade of our paint; I'd rather have a color. I'm just unsure what color to use.

FYI, our bathroom walls are sage, our kitchen is a rustic yellow, and our bedroom is a dark turquoise (something we'll have to paint over when we sell, it's certainly a personalized choice)

Re: What color accent wall should we have?

  • While I dont particularly care for accent walls (would rather accent with details such a pillows, cutains, rugs, etc.) I would say to use a similar color that is in another room of yours, perhaps a room that is close by. Without pictures, it's hard to say which is best..

  • Just start over. This room sounds terrible.
