rebates for having h/e appliances...

Not sure if everyone knew about this: Apparently most utilities companies will give you a rather generous rebate for switching to an H/E appliance. Not only did I just buy a beautiful washer that does 2 loads in one wash, but I also qualified for $150 rebate just for going with an H/E washer:)

Suh-weet!

Re: rebates for having h/e appliances...

  • did you just say a whaser that does TWO loads, I think I've died and gone to heaven!
  • Deez- 2 loads!!!!! It was a costly washer but after weighing the pro's and con's it's a great investment. We get it on the 15th...I'm so stoked!
  • We replaced a fridge a few years ago. Not only did SoCal Edison give us $150, they also picked it up and hauled it away.

I'm jealous of your new washer. The house came with a brand new washer and dryer. It's a decent set, but I really want the Electrolux that does a complete wash and dry in 36 minutes! I feel like my washer and dryer are running nonstop and my power bill is sky high because of it.

  • Jen-  There were so many options. I especially liked the one where you never have to clean the lint filter, put in soap or have to clean the washer or dryer...ever. Those were hella pricey though. $2k for a washer? yikes!

We opted for the Bravo Maytag top loading washer. When they shared that it could do 2 average loads in one wash and wash your bedding (comforter incl.) I was sold! If I had it my way I'd own 2 of these washers and dryers. Now that would be nice:)

  • Enjoy, the Bravo is a great washer!

When we eventually build our "dream house" in about 5 years I plan on having 2 full laundry rooms. I settled this time around for having an upstairs laundry room so at least I don't have to lug too much stuff up and down stairs.

We went from having all gas appliances to having all electric and it's been a huge change for me. My electric dryer seems to take forever to dry a load and it drives me crazy! I've had the service people out to look at it twice and they claim that it's working properly but I still have to run average sized loads through 2 dry cycles. I want to pick it up and throw it out the window like in those commercials.
