I recently sold my house in a bad real estate market by placing a stunning wall mirror at the front entrance (right by the door opening) and a beautiful painting in the last room that was shown to the potential buyer. This gave the buyers a WOW feeling right away when they stepped in the house and again when they entered the last room that WOW feeling came across giving them the feeling that this is the home they would really want.
Of course all the basic rules (like no cluttering etc) must be strictly kept at all times.
